Looking for things to do in Eilat? First, you need to know how to get around. There are several ways to tour Eilat, depending on the season. During the summer the heat is very intense and hiking is not advised. Luckily, all hotels, restaurants, public places, and buses are air conditioned.There are public buses in Eilat and there are also bus tours sponsored by travel agents. However, there are also other unique ways to get around.

The Eilat Camel Ranch at Nachal Shlomo (the Shlomo River) offers you the opportunity to travel on the “ship of the desert” – the main mode of transportation for thousands of years in arid regions. Founded in 2006, Desert ATV provides guided trips for the whole family. Trips are 1-4 hours long and go to some of Eilat’s most special attractions, such as the bird-watching park, the salt ponds, and the vanished lake.

Challenging sports and events are offered by Jeep Sea: The Center for Desert Tourism. These Eilat jeep tours include desert meals and “riddles” provided by the experts; you can even try your hand with a bow and arrow. Tours range as far as the Eilat mountains to Mitzpe Ramon and can take from 2 hours to 5 days. Be aware that while most jeeps are not air-conditioned, a few air-conditioned ones are available on request.
