Beer Sheva Restaurants

Eating out in Beer Sheva

Be’er Sheva has some wonderful restaurants to suit every taste. Many of them reflect the ethnic background of the immigrants from all over the world that settled in Be’er Sheva. Others reflect popular trends like Japanese sushi. Many restaurants are located in the Old City. Some are in the malls and shopping centers or near Ben Gurion University. For more about restaurants around Israel see the Baruch Haba Restaurant site that offers an English website for restaurants with an online booking service and specials and discount coupons; booking on line ensures your table is available and the restaurant is open.

Something for everyone!

Here is the place to go if you fancy Japanese food, but your partner wants to eat Middle Eastern and your friends are in the mood for American style sirloin steaks! Your little kids only want pasta and your oldest is a vegetarian. Something for everyone indeed is at Arabica World Wide Kitchen, a very nice kosher meat restaurant that offers several different kinds of cuisine on their menu. For instance they have a sushi bar and Japanese cuisine with dishes like chicken tempura, yakitori salmon, and salmon sashimi. They also serve Middle Eastern dishes like lamb kebab, Italian meat pastas like Pasta Bolognese and vegetarian pastas. Last but not least are American style steaks. Their bread is home-made and delicious. It is located in the Old City at 12 Herzel Street. For further information phone: (08) 627-7801, (08) 627-7802.

Moroccan Moroccan Food

Many Be’er Sheva residents came from Morocco and Be’er Sheva has a great Moroccan kosher restaurant called Yakuta that was founded in 1965. This fascinating restaurant is completely decorated in authentic Moroccan décor. The waiters wear Moroccan clothes, but most of all it is the Moroccan hospitality you feel as soon as you enter the door. Moroccan cuisine offers many different kinds of salads. Some are made by holding peppers or eggplants over a fire or a grill until the skin can be peeled off. Slices of eggplants are also fried. Salads are followed by delicious couscous, fish, meat or chicken dishes some of which are baked in tangines (clay pots). Vegetarian couscous is also available. Yakuta is in the Old City at 87 Mordei Hagetaot Street, and corner of 18 Anilevich. For further information phone (08) 623-2689.

Mediterranean and Middle Eastern

Habavas Hazahav (The Golden Duck) founded in 1997 has all kinds of grilled meats and poultry mainly on skewers like chicken hearts and wings, turkey shwarma, steaks, lamb ribs and more. They also offer grilled Denise fish. Salads are humus (chick pea paste) grilled eggplants in tahina (sesame paste). Take-aways are an option. They are located in the BIG Shopping Center, 60 Derech Hevron. For further information email: avaz_hazahav@walla.com or phone 057-944-3409.
