Simply go to one of the 150 docking stations around Tel Aviv and Old Jaffa, pop in your credit card, take your pick between ‘daily’ and ‘weekly’ rentals and between over over 5,000 bicycles, and off you go. The one-size bikes are adjustable and suitable for men and women.

The first 30 minutes are free of charge, so after about 20-25 minutes, ride to the nearest docking station to return your bike. You can then stroll and enjoy the area, go swimming, try out a Tel Aviv restaurant, or visit a Tel Aviv museum. Once 10 minutes have passed, you can once again bike Tel Aviv for free for another 30 mintues.

The best way to plan your bike rides are to print out a Tel Aviv map detailing the cycling paths and docking stations. No matter where you are staying, there is sure to be a Tel-O-Fun station nearby. You can also try Google Maps Tel Aviv and check out the docking stations situated near a Tel Aviv musuem, such as the stations on Haim Levanon Street which are in close proximity to the Eretz Israel Museum and the Diaspora Museum (Museum of the Jewish People).

The HaTachanah (Old Train Station) Tel Aviv

If you ride straight into the ‘Tachanah, the newly revamped train station, you’ll find an array of restaurants, art exhibitions, fashion stores, and frequent food festivals.  Next, choose another bike and cycle to nearby Jaffa, leaving your bike in Kedumim Square. You can pick up some information at the Tourist Information Center and take a stroll around the alleyways of the beautiful Jaffa Port. Museums, Judaica shops, and art galleries can be found on every corner and you’re likely to get a glimpse of the artists at work. Enjoy a meal watching the sunset on the Mediterranean and when you’re ready, pick up another bike for your return. Of course, if you’re too tired to cycle home, the joy of this scheme is that you can just pick up a cab or bus, leaving the bike riding for another energetic day.
